Butter Rice Cake
Scent
Butter Vanilla Pie
Quick context if you missed the trend: butter rice cakes (버터떡) are a viral Korean street food where garaetteok rice cakes get pan-fried in butter and dusted with sugar, giving you that crispy outside, chewy pillowy inside contrast. They blew up on TikTok last year and Rodem absolutely captured the vibe in slime form. The two clay bears are coated with wax to mimic the crispy outer layer, and the clay inside represents the soft chewy rice cake. 🧈 Rodem's textures are always my fav and this one does not disappoint. The base comes super loose and smooth, basically begging for the clay, which is exactly what I want to see with a DIY. That is how I know I will not have any clay regret. Once everything is folded in, the final texture is a perfect chewy slay: soft, stretchy, and getting more creamy and plump the longer you play. 🐻 Cracking the wax bears is the WHOLE event. So much fun, so much satisfaction, those little snaps and crunches as you crush them down. Real talk though, the wax pieces did not fall out on their own the way some other wax slimes do, so I had to manually pull the bigger chunks out as I played. I guess you could leave them in if you wanted or maybe they fall out later? 🧈 The scent is butter vanilla pie and it is very unique, but I really enjoyed it. Reads almost like a buttery pie crust to me, warm and a little nutty, lands more bakery than dessert case. Not a scent I have smelled in another slime, which I love about Rodem. 🐻 And the charm. Super unique, something I have never seen before. The clay inside the bears is also so so soft, which adds to the whole chewy rice cake illusion. Such a thoughtful little drop. OVERALL: 10/10
