Coffee and Beignets at Cafe du Monde

When I visited NOLA, it was mid April for Jazz Fest and already in the mid 80s during the day every day. I literally went to Cafe du Monde daily for coffee and beignets. The pile of powdered sugar on them was insane, plus there was a shaker on each table of it lol. Driving across Lake Pontchartrain on a roughly 24 mile long bridge was an interesting experience, as was the crawfish boil in the bayou (I refused to join the locals in eating them properly). I feel like my 10 day visit was basically an eating tour through New Orleans, including Popeyes, Pat O'Brien's and Central Grocery (GIMMIE ALL THE MUFFULETTAS). We definitely took advantage of the ability to drive with open alcoholic beverages in the car, which was really stupid in hindsight, but this was also 20 years ago LOL. 🍩I could not find relaxing New Orleans style music, so BotW to the rescue. The clay was very soft and I actually only used half of the 4 oz included. Love the bright green base! 🍩 This is a primarily cg based jelly. Once mixed, it did deactivate a tiny bit, but also felt wonderfully plush, smooth and chubby. Crackles and pops. Not tacky. I appreciated the sage green end color, though not sure if it would have been more muddy looking had I used all the clay. 🍩 Very pleasant scent. Does smell like a very light roast coffee with milk and sweetness behind it (not really much pastry or dough however). A pleasant sweeter coffee scent without much of the bitterness. Medium strength.
